Ford receives 11,000 preorders for 2011 Mustang

As Job 1 rolled of the assembly line in Flat Rock Michigan, on March 15, Ford announced that it already received 11,000 orders for the 2011 Mustang. Sales are split evenly between the fuel efficient six cylinder base model and the  fire breathing  5.0 liter V8 GT. After the 2010 refresh the Mustang had its worst sales year ever last year. Ford is hoping the new engine power plants and an economic recovery help fuel sales for the original pony car. Ford has yet to lead monthly sales since the rival Chevrolet Camaro was introduced last year.
