Rubicon Express, Leading Off Road Suspension Company, Closes Doors

Rubicon Express Closes Jeep Wrangler TJ

After nearly 15 years of building some of the best lift kits around for Jeeps, Trucks, and SUV’s, suspension tuner Rubicon Express closes its doors.

The company has posted a not on their website saying they hope restructure and reopen. However sources close to the company are saying that without a capital infusion restructuring just is not an option at this point. The company has been unable to refinance or get an extension on a $1 million dollar SBA Loan (Small Business Association), and needs an additional $1 million dollars to buy product and cover operational expenses.

Rubicon Express Jeeps SteelbenderWith the current the economic state Rubicon Express is unlikely to find the cash it needs without a change of ownership. Competitors are circling like buzzards hoping to be able to swoop down and acquire the trademark and other assets should the company enter bankruptcy. Some suitors have even looked at purchasing the loan from the bank in order to gain access to the company and avoid a bidding war. In parts because of Rubicon’s storied name and reputation, and in part because the company supplies MOPAR with Jeep suspension components.

Rubicon Manufacturing dba “Rubicon Express” was founded in 1996 in Rancho Cordova, CA just minutes away from the famous Rubicon 4WD Trail in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains, they borrowed their name from. The company emerged as one of the best names in off road industry. If you wanted to go off road road, you wanted a Rubicon Express Suspension kit,” stated one satisfied customer.

Here is what their website had to say:
